ID Verification

The first step to secure testing is student verification. It is necessary to eliminate the possibility of taking an exam by someone else. Login/passwords can be easily entered by an outsider. The student’s ID card can be given to another person. SecureTest® identifies students by the student`s iris as a primary biometric.

Iris recognition is a commonly used biometric. However, some iris scanners can be fooled by a high-quality image of an iris. SecureTest® System will periodically monitor the student’s pupil to detect that it changes size to ensure the iris is real and not a painted contact lens. Such changes to the size of one’s pupil and iris occur even in constant light environments.

The SecureTest® System uses an algorithm to convert the iris biometric into a number which cannot be reversed. Thus, SecureTest® will not maintain a database of the actual biometrics of the students. With such an approach to login, the student only needs to put on the headset and press a button to begin.

After logging into the system, students cannot take off the headset and give it to someone else for taking exams. If this is attempted, the system will immediately recognize the absence of an eye, will terminate the exam and the student will be logged out.
